Elk Hunting
General Elk License Area:
ALL OUR HUNTING IS FAIR CHASE!
General season rifle elk hunts are conducted from our drive to wall tent camp. We offer 5 total hunts starting the end of October thru November 20th. We take 6 hunters on each hunt. 2 hunters per Guide. The first 4 hunts we offer are 5 full days of hunting, and our 5th hunt is 3.5 days of hunting with a reduced rate. You arrive at 11:00am day of hunt to get settled into camp and shoot your rifle. We then have some lunch and get ready for the afternoon/evening hunt and then finish the last day of the hunt at 12:00pm. Our hunting is all “Fair Chase” and as we all know there are no guarantees. The 11,000 acres of private land ranches we hunt on are accessed by John Deere Gator / side-by-side, or 4×4’s. The bull elk we harvest can be anywhere from a brow-tine (rag horn) bull to a 320-type score. Our harvest rate has been around %60. There is a larger population of younger bulls on our ranches in these areas. We have however seen 350- type bulls while out in the field. Are they behind every tree? No sometimes hunting is hunting.
In order to hunt you need to have a Montana General Elk Combo License which is obtained through the Montana General License Drawing with an April 1st deadline! The results of the drawing are usually available around the middle of April.
Lone Wolf Guide Service strives to offer only the very finest private ranches for its client hunters. We own exclusive hunting rights on these ranches, and the trophy potential can be fabulous!
Please call today to arrange the time slot that best suits you! We will do our best to help you decide based upon the results of previous years and the hunting method that you are most comfortable with.
